Daniel S. Wise
Ph.D. in Religious Studies
I am an independent researcher in the field of Religious Studies. I examine the twenty-first-century shift away from traditional religion into new forms of spirituality.
I am interested in topics related to the religiously unaffiliated, paranormal belief, neopaganism and metaphysical religion, vernacular or folk religion, and how traditional religious institutions are working to accommodate American cultural shifts.
I’m originally from Florida, and I received my undergrad degree from Florida State University. I’ve been married to my wife Leah since 2010. We currently live in Houston, Texas with our two cats.
